Credits
How credits work
One credit unlocks one contact profile, and that contact stays in your account permanently, including after a plan lapses. Searching itself does not cost credits, so you can qualify companies freely and spend only on the contacts you decide to approach.
Top-ups start at 60 credits and do not change your plan. Unused credits, top-ups included, expire 12 months after your last purchase. Buying more within that window, a renewal or a top-up, extends them for another 12 months.
Contacts are unlocked individually rather than in bulk. That is deliberate: the companies listed on Biocontacts receive better-matched approaches when outreach is selective, which is what keeps them willing to share their interests with us.
If an unlocked email bounces, tell us and we refund the credit plus one more.
How this compares to the alternatives
Three ways teams find in-licensing partners, and what each one gives you.
| Building the list in-house | General contact databases | Biocontacts | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whether a company in-licenses at all | Inferred from press releases and deal news, which lag current strategy. | Not recorded. Company records cover size and sector, not partnering behaviour. | Recorded for every company, because in-licensing interest is what the database is organised around. |
| What they want to bring in | Pieced together from pipeline pages and conference presentations. | Not covered. | Stated therapeutic areas, modalities, and stage preference on every profile, plus notes from our own partnering meetings. |
| Who to approach | Usually whoever is listed publicly, who is often not the person handling in-licensing. | Broad role coverage, rarely business development or external innovation specifically. | Business development, external innovation, and search and evaluation roles, verified and re-checked as people move. |
| Time to a usable list | Weeks of research, and the result is hard to keep current afterwards. | Quick to pull, slow to qualify. | A filtered, exportable list in an afternoon. |
| How cost scales | Staff time, which rarely appears in a budget line. | Priced per seat, so cost rises with team size. | One annual fee for the whole team, regardless of how many people use it. |
