About
Built from partnering work, not from scraping
Biocontacts started as an internal tool. Dr Janette Dixon built it to run partnering searches for her own consulting clients, and it grew into the database that now backs JustPartnering's licensing work. It is maintained by the people who use it daily, which is why the partnering notes on a company profile read like something a business development person wrote.
Where the data comes from
Three sources, one of them unusual
Most of what makes Biocontacts useful comes from conversations. We run 300+ face-to-face partnering meetings a year across the major partnering conferences, and what companies tell us about what they want to bring in goes into the platform.
The second source is public: company websites, pipeline pages, and published partnering documents. The third is direct email contact with the companies listed, asking them to confirm their current interests.
That first source is the one a scraped database cannot replicate, and it is why a profile can tell you a company's stage preference rather than only its pipeline.

Pharma, biotech, medical device, and animal health, across every stage.
Business development, external innovation, and search and evaluation roles.
From solid tumours to rare disease, mapped to what each company wants.
How it is kept current
Updated weekly, verified continuously
The platform is updated weekly. New companies and contacts are added as we meet them, and existing records are re-checked as people change roles and companies.
Every contact carries name, job title, company, email, therapeutic focus, and LinkedIn where available. If an email you have unlocked bounces, we refund the credit plus one more, because a bounce is our problem and not yours.
We would rather hold 2,500 companies we can stand behind than a larger number we cannot.
Who is behind it
The team that uses it
Biocontacts was founded by Dr Janette Dixon, who has worked in pharmaceutical partnering and life sciences consulting since 2007, from leading partnering strategy in biotech start-ups to connecting technology transfer clients with global pharma.
The team is small, and the same people who maintain the database run partnering engagements with it. That is the arrangement that keeps it accurate.
Biocontacts is the platform arm of JustPartnering, a boutique life sciences business development and licensing consultancy working across Asia-Pacific and globally. If you need someone to run a partnering process rather than a database to run it yourself, that is where to start.
